Initial Training for Newly Appointed Judges Begins

The Judicial Training, Research and Information Academy (JTRIA) is organizing a initial training for newly appointed judges of the first-instance courts from March 16 to March 27, 2026.

This training covers a wide range of topics, including the theory of legal interpretation and application, evidence evaluation, judicial decision-making techniques, and court session preparation and presiding. It also addresses the implementation of adversarial principles, case management, alternative dispute resolution and simplified and out-of-court settlement procedures.

Furthermore, judge-trainers will share their expertise and insights on subjects such as judicial independence and accountability, ethics, work organization, and personal measures of judicial well-being, including stress management for judges.

The sessions for the opening day were led by:

  • Justice Ts. Tsogt, Justice of the Supreme Court of Mongolia, on the topic of "Judicial Law";
  • Judge D. Khaliuna, Judge of the Administrative Court of First Instance in Ulaanbaatar, on "Judicial Practical Studies";
  • Judge Ts. Munkhtulga, Judge of the Capital city Court of Criminal Appeals, on "Judicial Social Awareness".

The trainers shared their practical experiences regarding challenges encountered during judicial proceedings and discussed potential solutions. A total of 27 newly appointed first-instance court judges are participating in this training program.
